Laura
Stevens
A brilliantly talented photographer and master of her craft, Laura Stevens was initially introduced to us by our friends over at MPrint. Currently residing in Paris, Laura’s images feel at home in the fine art realm; her work is intimate and aesthetically romantic, with subdued tones and painterly light.
Framing her subjects with subtle, cinematic compositions, we’re drawn in by the sense of calm within the environment and the quiet voyeurism in Laura’s work that alludes to an unknown narrative and ambiguous air. With influences of both cinema and Renaissance, Laura’s use of light, colour, and texture, create sombre tones that stir up feelings of longing and loneliness.
Laura’s standout images portray themes of love and relationship, intimate stories of vulnerability and the evolving chapters of life after loss. Captured through the female gaze, Laura’s work is a combination of both constructed portraits and images with an observational narrative - all beautifully shot through a tender lens.
